My Miserable, Yet Bearable Day

Yesterday was an eventful day. It was very depressing, yet people who must care about me immensley to put up with my meloncholly mood, were able to bring it up some. Here's the list of friends and family who have had a great effect on my day. These people are able to determine my attitude like the wind determines the direction a leaf will sway. Sometimes they influence my outlook on life negatively, but thank goodness that it's not the case in most situations.

  • Mr. Michael Brooks: Recently returned missionary and instructor. He made my morning when I saw him in Orem waiting to train with Master Lawrence, as I was. I had a great time reviewing our self-defense with him, but became exceedlly guilty when I accidently scratched him with "my claws" and made him bleed. I will continue to feel guilty until I can no longer see the mark on his lip where my fingernail dug in. This could very well take a few weeks....
  • Jessica Kemper and Micki Lawrence: Because Jessica did not bring her uniform, the two of them cleverly roped me into staying on the floor for Orem's Ban Bu Test. Since we had four students who were testing there, Spanish Fork needed a represenitive. Congrats to Max, Hannah, Silas, Katrina, Tammy, Sam and everyone else for passing and recieving their next belt today!
  • Bao Ha: Punctured yet another deep hole into my already broken heart. He outrightly rejected my desperate attempt to talk things out. Upset and extremely hurt I imediately exited the Orem studio and broke down upon arriving at my car. It was several minutes before I could leave the parkinglot; my eyes blurred with tears would have definitely made me a hazardous driver.
  • My Mom: An unexpected confidence. Usually I keep my boy issues hidden from her, so I think that is was a surprise to both of us when I suddenly made known to her my internal feelings about Bao and my aching heart. I was relieved that  instead of getting upset with me, she provided good advice, and kept her negative thoughts about the boy I am in love with to a minimum. I'm very grateful for the comfort she offered in my time of need.
  • Chloe Williams: My best friend! I attended a master violin class with her today. I admit, it was kind of long and boring. Let me tell you this though, Chloe is a Pro at violin! She played a really complicated piece and I enjoyed listening to it. Chloe was one of the people who turned my miserable, painful day, into something endurable. Being with her always lightens my mood. I'm so grateful that she puts up with me nonstop.
  • Tani Tsosie: Although exhausted from a long day of snowboarding, Tani was more than willing to hang out after. Tani is a great person and an amazing friend. He's good at eliminating my negative thoughts and replacing my frown with a smile. His anxious-to-please good humor always ready, Tani can bring out the best in the worst of us. I can't say I've ever seen this kid with a down spirit. Tani's out look on life and his good nature inspire me to be more like him.
  • Nathan Starley: I don't think that I'll ever be able to understand our friendship. It seems to me that Nathan's never ending complaints and dismal attitude would drive me away; in reality however, it's just the opposite. I'm drawn to his familiarity and pessimistic ways. Nathan is a good kid. I know that he'll have my back as long as I have his. Likewise, he'll put up with my crap as long as I put up with his. Nathan, you're awesome!
  • David Corey: Chloe and I walked into my house late at night (it was 11:30ish). When I flipped on the lights, David (the creep jk) was sitting on my couch. "David!" I said in surprise, "What are you doing in my house?" Turns out, to my delight, he was there to serenade me. Changing the lyrics to Hey There Delilah, he asked me to the Yule Ball. He also played his spanish and emo song at my request before he left. David is super sweet. He has some serious guitar playing skills! and his voice makes the girls melt. ;)
After my upset with Bao, and the welcomed conversation with my mom, things started to change for the better. I got to hang out with my best friend, Chloe. We first went to her master class, and then hung out with two of my other good friends, Nathan and Tani. We watched the movie Dispicable Me at the dollar theater. There was not a better movie I could have watched at that time.  That movie is pure genius! If you haven't seen it, go watch it!
These guys are HALARIOUS!

So yeah. After a great movie, Panda Express and David's adorable song asking me to the dance, my miserable day turned out to be halfway decent. Don't get me wrong... I still hurt (like crazy), but I think I might be able to live.
