My Awesome Birthday

Well, I am now 17.... Guess I'm getting pretty old.

There are a couple people I would like to thank for making it an awesome day:

     Thank you David for the early present :) That carraige ride was a lot of fun.

     Thank you Chloe for the yummy cinnamon rolls.

     Thank you Miki for inviting the SF school to come play laser tag with you guys. I had a blast! (I took 4th during the first game. I was pretty proud of myself)

     Thank you Michael and Ryan for the gifts.

     Thank you Mom for getting me a new hair straightener, it was much needed.

     Thank you Chloe, Hopper, Craig and David for coming to sabatoge my room. It was a complete surprise! Here are some pics of my room if anyone cares to see how sweet my friends are!

What I Learned from the Foulten Boys

I just got back from an awesome date. I went with Briggs and Chloe went with Cole, and this is what I learned from the Fulton boys:

• It is not calm down, it's cam down.
• Cole has a tendency for answering his own questions.
• When the ticket lady says there's one minute left until the movie starts, it means the movie started ten minutes ago.
• Tangled is one of my new favorite movies.
• Frying pans make excellent weapons.
• Rupunzel looks better blonde.
• Briggs will give away pennies for FREE!
• Eating a spoonful of frosty does not mask the taste of a mouthful of salt.
• The people who worked on the interior design of Wendy's, thought it would be okay to put windows with plastic glass in random places. Perfect for fry flicking.
• Briggs is a fathlete.
• The leftover drink on the table was definitely rootbeer.
• Briggs and Cole have a telepathic connection. (They were supposed to be twins)
• It's okay to crack Mexican jokes if you got your mission call to Mexico.
• Deets loves Briggs
• If you park in my parking spot when it's wet... you will get stuck in the mud and have to recruit Brother William's to help push you out.

Thank you Briggs and Cole for all the laughs. You guys are the best!

Jealous Much?

This is absurd! You ask another girl for her number, so what? Why am I jealous?! We're just friends... That is  how it has always been. That is how I always wanted it to be. That is how I still want it to be. Right? ...Yes definitely right. I will get over this crazy feeling that thrust itself upon me. I will be happy that you have found someone else to pursue. I will not let this effect our friendship in any way! I love you Mr. Sperry, but in a different way.

Darren, I Miss You Already

Dear Mr. Darren Goodman,

Hiring you was one of the best things Charlene ever did. When you started working at Bobby Lawrence Karate, things began to change for the better. You brought your friendly personality that made everyone comfortable, you brought your fancy kicks that inspired Jessica and I to work harder on our own, and you brought your sarcastic remarks that made me laugh. 

I'm glad that I received the opportunity to know you.  Even though Jessica had to all but carry us up Y mountain, I'm grateful for that tedious hike that strengthened my bond with you and Jess. Remember when I dropped my phone off that cliff, and then we found it?! Yeah... good times. Remember how you ran that karate kamp and basically killed me! (I was sore for a week!) Remember the endless bickering that took place between you and Jessica? Haha! you two were hilarious. And remember how you teased me 24/7 about using the mic, and also about Bao? It  sounds kind of odd, but I think I'm going to miss that.

I'm grateful for your incite about relationships and for your offer to teach a certain boy a lesson ;) I'm probably going to regret my refusal to take you up on that. I know you always had my back, like the time you gave a certain somebody a low score on self-defense during November's tournament, on my behalf ;)

Darren, you will be extremely missed by everyone. I'm grateful for the time I had to work with you. I will always remember you as the person who was terrified of bees and who always needed to pee, but mostly importantly, I'll remember you as the good friend who made me laugh. I hope that wherever you find yourself at this present time will bring you happiness. I'm sure that your making the best of your current situation. Good luck!

John Bytheway

Chloe, Hopper, David and I went stake crashing when we found out that John Bytheway was coming to speak at a youth fireside in Santaquin. He started off by making fun of his name, just like he does in his recordings that I have listened to. Haha! His talk was on Christmas and its three levels. I would like to give a little recount of those three:

1. The first level of Christmas consists of: Santa Claus, treats, gifts, lights, trees, stalkings, playing in the snow... I think you get the picture.
2. The second level is found in Luke chapter 2, celebrating the birth of Christ.
3. This third level is the celebration of Christ's adulthood. Understanding the atonement and taking advantage of it, keeping his commandments and giving service to others, were all things included in the third level. The third level is special because it's the level that we should be taking with us all year round. "Endless Christmas."

Here are some additional quotes that I heard and would like to share:

It was a very good, inspiring fireside. Seeing John Bytheway live was everything I anticipated and more. I feel blessed to have been able to attend and witness such an amazing speaker. When I was driving David back to his house, we had a very deep conversation. He basically told me about his past, and how he gained his testimony of Christ and his atonement. I felt like that I could completely relate. By having David share his own personal experiences and feelings, my own testimony was strengthened. I'm extremely grateful to have friends who are such great examples to me.

Yule Ball

Last night was a lot of fun! It was ALA's winter dance, and I went with David Corey. He looked very nice dressed up all fancy ;)

 We started off the night by getting into a car accident. Hopper, was the driver... We were trying to find his date's house and realized that we passed the street we were supposed to turn onto. It was then that he decided to flip a U without checking his blind spot. A little blue car clipped the backside of his van, sending the back end skidding across the road. I screamed, David laughed and Hopper was super upset. (I'm proud to announce however, I heard no vulgarity come from his mouth. Way to go Hop!) Luckily no one got hurt. There was damage done to both vehicles, but they were both able to run after the mishap. We were detained by the police for a while. Clarissa, Hopper's date, was picked up an hour late.

So, after we had  seen our lives flash before our eyes, we went out to eat at Pizza Pie Cafe and then to Toys R Us. 

When we were finished with our little kid adventure, we went and partied it up at the dance. Not many people showed up for it, but that didn't stunt our amusement in the slightest. I had a blast at the actual dance. Thanks David Corey, for an amazing night!
